FoodHQ Recruiting Projects Manager

Monday 28th May 2018

FoodHQ is currently recruiting a new Projects Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity to get involved with New Zealand’s smartest science minds collaborating on solutions for the food industry. The role will be based in Palmerston North.

This is a new role for FoodHQ that works closely with their CEO, Dr Abby Thompson. The successful applicant will get involved in a wide variety of projects - from exploring new operating models that enable FoodHQ's Partners to collaborate more through sharing services and facilities, to identifying key players in different organisations and scientific disciplines and bringing them together to work on complex topics. The Project Manager will be involved at all stages of the process, from inception through to implementation and review. Although FoodHQ already have an exisitng list of projects, the applicant will be encouraged to take ownership of the role and use their initiative to identify and pursue new opportunities.

To support this, the applicant needs to be able to engage and build strong relationships, critically analyse data and present their findings in relevant and creative ways. They would be confident coordinating, attending and representing FoodHQ at events, including giving presentations on the FoodHQ story and their activities.

The Project Manager will become part of a small and effective team of two which multitasks across roles and gets things done, no matter how big or small. The applicant will be recognised for their integrity and the ability to think outside the box to make things happen. This is coupled with a flexible approach to their work and a genuine desire to help the FoodHQ Partners and New Zealand food industry achieve great things.

The applicant will need to have at least a basic knowledge of the wider New Zealand AgriFood sector and how it operates, a track record of successful project delivery and strong planning and organising abilities.
