Food for thought showcased in new clip

A Youtube clip showing the fun that can be had with food science classroom resource “Food for thought” has been created by the South Auckland branch of House of Science. The Food for Thought kit was initially funded by the Riddet Institute and staff were involved in creating it. Hubbards Foods sponsored the kit for the South Auckland branch.

Dr Joel Rindelaub from Auckland University appears in the clip, along with South Auckland House of Science branch manager Andrea Lun. The five-minute clip reveals how fun the kits are and why children in New Zealand schools have loved using the Food for Thought resource since 2018.

House for Science is a charitable trust that aims to raise science literacy in primary and intermediate schools by providing hands-on science resource kits for use in classrooms. Its 19 branches around the country deliver kits to more than 550 member schools. Each House of Science kit is a comprehensive bilingual resource box containing everything a teacher needs to do, with up to eight activities on a particular theme.
