Student Team Win at Go Innovate! Competition

On 2nd May 2018, a team of Riddet Institute students participated in the Go Innovate competition run by eCentre and Massey University at the Turitea Palmerston North Massey University campus. The team, comprised of Sarah Priour, Sewuese Okubanjo, Nicole Chen and Feng Ming Chian, presented “Nutrisprinky”; a product idea they had developed at the inaugural Riddet Institute Enterprise & Innovation Workshop held in June 2017 and run by Dr Chris Kirk.

The team presented a three-minute pitch in front of a judging panel explaining their product. Nutrisprinky is an all-in-one healthy, nutritious and convenient sprinkle for vegetables and salads which uses a food industry by-product as one of its key ingredients. This product would be able to provide delicious and nutritional value to a balanced diet, as well as combatting food waste.

In the END, our students won the People’s Choice Award: a $500 prize as well as mentoring from the eCentre ( https://www.ecentre.org.nz ). They were ecstatic with the result and are looking forward to advancing their project even farther.

Congratulations Sarah, Sewuese, Nicole & Feng Ming!
