Let’s Nip It In the Bud Alzheimer’s Talk

On 28th March, Professor Ralph Martins – the Foundation Professor and Inaugural Chair in Ageing and Alzheimer’s Disease at Edith Cowan University, Perth and a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Macquarie University, Sydney – gave a fascinating free public lecture on his research into Alzheimer’s Disease and the hope scientists’ have for stemming it in future.

The event, held at the Spiers Centre at Palmerston North Boys’ High School, was attended by over 200 people including academics, members of Alzheimer’s Manawatu, care-home residents, and the general public. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One attendee who has dementia particularly enjoyed the presentation and passed on their feedback.
