On Tuesday 9th May 2017, the Riddet Institute welcomed a Singaporean delegation of 18 significant members of SPRING, A*STAR, Jurong Town Council (JTC), Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA), Food Innovation & Resource Centre (FIRC), Republic Polytechnic (RP) and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). The visit was part of a longer trip to New Zealand by A*STAR to review joint Singapore-New Zealand food for health research projects.
The delegation was met and attended by Prof Warren McNabb and Dr Abby Thompson, who introduced them to the Riddet Institute and took them on brief tours around the Food Pilot Plant and MIFST. Presentations on the Riddet CoRE, Riddet Innovation, FoodHQ, and MIFST were greatly appreciated by the Singaporean team who are looking to explore possible translational research collaboration with NZ industry and research labs.
The visit was a success and enjoyed so much by all that the Riddet Institute has been invited to visit the Singaporean institutions next September.
