Scientific Advisory Panel meets in Napier

14 November 2022 - The Riddet Institute’s Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) had a chance to meet in person during the recent Riddet Institute Conference and Student Colloquium in Napier. The SAP intends to meet in person every year, but the global Covid-19 pandemic has prevented this for two years.

The team’s role is to provide the Director, Research Leadership Group and Board of the Riddet Institute with strategic advice on its CoRE research programme. It is made up of international experts in fields relevant to the CoRE.

The SAP members are: Prof. Alistair Robertson (Chair) who is former Group Executive-Food, Health and Life Science Industries, CSIRO, Australia; Prof. Rickey Yada, Dean of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, University of British Columbia, Canada; Prof. Manny Noakes, former Director and Senior Principal Research Scientist, Nutrition and Health, CSIRO, Australia; Prof. José Miguel Aguilera, Emeritus Professor of Chemical and Food Engineering, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile; Prof. Oded Shoseyov, Professor of Protein Engineering and Nanobiotechnology, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel; and Aotearoa New Zealand’s Prof. Tracey McIntosh, who is Ngāi Tūhoe and Professor of Indigenous Studies at the University of Auckland and a former board member of the Riddet Institute.
