Rajesh Sathyamoorthy is a Research Officer in Food Bioprocessing Group at the Riddet Institute, where his research focuses on precision fermentation and metabolic engineering to develop sustainable food proteins and lipid ingredients. His work integrates strain engineering, bioinformatics, and bioprocess design across microbial systems including yeast, fungi, and microalgae. Trained as a microbiologist with a PhD from MS University, India, and postdoctoral experience at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. He has also worked with leading biotechnology companies such as Perfect Day and Yokogawa. Rajesh’s current research aims to advance alternative dairy proteins and structured lipids through scalable, microbially driven synthetic biology platforms.
