Assoc Prof Abby Johnson

Abby Johnson is an Associate Professor with the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative® at Massey University. She has diverse experiences across nutrition research ranging from molecular biology and clinical nutrition to microbiome bioinformatics and public health. Her previous research explores diet measurement and the relationships between diet and the human gut microbiome in health and disease. She uses novel approaches to integrate dietary data with multi-omics data. Abby received her PhD in nutrition from the University of Minnesota and she is a registered dietitian in the United States. She completed food industry post-doctoral training R&D and academic post-doctoral training in microbiome bioinformatics. Abby is a professional member of the American Society of Nutrition where she previously served as the Chair of the Microbiome and Nutrition Research Interest Section. She is an affiliate faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
