Harieta Sapeta Erone Ang commenced her role as Programme Manager for the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative® at the Riddet Institute, Massey University, on 26 May 2026. She brings more than two decades of professional experience across Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific region, having held a diverse range of leadership roles in Fiji, the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand. Her expertise includes governance systems, programme coordination, organisational strengthening, and cross-cultural partnership engagement, with a particular focus on Pacific development contexts.

Prior to joining SNi®, Harieta served in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Māori at Massey University, where she held a senior leadership role providing executive support, strategic coordination, and iwi and mana whenua partnership engagement. This work strengthened her capability in Indigenous governance, policy alignment, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Harieta holds a Bachelor of Arts from Massey University, with a minor in Social Policy, and is currently completing a Master of International Development. Her research examines how tourism in Rotuma can be shaped by Rotuman values and priorities to support identity, community-led development, and long-term sustainable outcomes. She maintains a strong commitment to Pacific-led development and the integration of Indigenous knowledge systems within policy and practice.
