Dr Jaspreet Dhupia

Dr Dhupia is a Senior Lecturer in Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Auckland. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and his Master’s and PhD degrees are from the University of Michigan, USA. He previously held an academic appointment at Nanyang Technological University and is a Senior Member of IEEE. Dr Dhupia’s research interests span mechatronics, automation, and machine learning, with transdisciplinary applications across food science, pharmaceutics, marine systems, and medical devices. His work on chewing robotics, co-developed with the Riddet Institute, has been used for commercial drug characterisation in a project commissioned by the US FDA and for quantifying the textural properties of several off-the-shelf products produced by an international food and beverage conglomerate.
